There’s been a massive rise in people signing up to Broadband ‘bundles’, where the internet subscription’s thrown in with their phone service. Figures from a leading independent broadband comparison site broadbandsuppliers.co.uk showed the Broadband ‘bundling’ trend has increased by 28% in the last 12months.

Experts suggest the reason for the shift in Internet subscriptions could be down to the current economy. People tend to be shopping around for better Internet and mobile deals, rather than jumping into the first agreement they find. Marketing manager of Broadband Suppliers, Nadeem Azam said, “People love fast Internet but hate paying for it…they are doing whatever they can to keep costs down. The recession has triggered a massive explosion in the kinds of bundling deals on offer.”

Sales of mobile Broadband are also up, by 43 percent in the last 2months, compared to the same period last year, Broadband Suppliers noticed there has been “a massive rise in sales of mobile broadband, with plenty of evidence that some homeowners are dumping their fixed line access.” Mobile networks can afford to undercut fixed line broadband providers; and with better rates on offer, mobile Internet is proving more popular than ever.
