More customers than ever are complaining about their broadband connection. A number of people still feel they are not getting the broadband speeds promised by suppliers. According to the leading broadband comparison site, broadbandsuppliers, complaints have shot up by 9%.

The company has just finished analysing 12months worth of research from various broadband suppliers. It found that in most cases, customers are not getting the fast connections as promised to them in adverts.

"When you see that you can get speeds of 10Mb that's what you expect - but it's rarely what you get," explained Nadeem Azam, the marketing manager of broadbandsuppliers "These adverts are legal because they put small print saying the speed is 'up to' 10Mb. But we feel that is dishonest, and clearly so do customers.” He believes that is the main reason customer complaints have gone up by 9% in the past 12 months.
