iPhone contracts on Orange and 02 will be available both in store and online from Phones 4u.The independent mobile retailer will be stocking the iPhone range within the next few weeks. There’s still no word on a Vodafone contract, but the network are under strict orders to wait until 2010 until they begin selling the Smartphone.
Since 02’s exclusive deal with Apple ran out, speculation has grown about competition within the iPhone market. Brendan Sweeney, Phones 4u Managing Director said “Phones 4u believes that the role of the independent mobile retailer is to provide customers with choice across networks and handsets. The iPhone will complement Phones 4u’s market leading product range and offer greater choice to our customers.”
The Phones 4U brand is renown for its ‘youth audience’, a market that in the past, 02 have struggled to target. Brendan Sweeney understands that the company is “recognised for [its] in depth understanding of the youth market and their needs, our knowledge and skilled staff are in a strong position to introduce the Apple iPhone to our Phones 4u customer base.”
