The two biggest social networking sites Facebook and Twitter are set to go live on the Xbox360 from November 17th. Revealed via a UK ad, the social networking bug seems to have penetrated the gaming world alongside other multimedia offerings such as Last FM and Skyplayer. (Since then Xbox have taken down that date and stated Autumn 2009)

The new services will only be available to Xbox Live Gold members. The main features will include a ‘Friend Linker’ for Facebook, which lets you invite friends from the site to play over Xbox Live; you will also be able to save screen shots that you can then send to your fellow Facebookers. On the Twitter side of things your Xbox avatar will be displayed as you tweet.

Skyplayer and Last Fm are also expected to hit the console soon, bringing with them the ability to access a library of movies and live sporting action, without having to subscribe to Sky. Last FM will provide the Internet radio station direct to the Xbox.
