A Businessman has asked the courts to bring in an independent expert to verify just how safe the Apple iPhone is to use. The iPhone user asked for expert advice after he claimed the screen on his Apple handset had shattered without warning.
He has now brought the case to the courts seeking advice about the safety of the device, “My client wants a neutral expert to tell him what caused his problem and tell him whether he can continue to use this type of telephone” said Patrick Luciana, the lawyer representing the businessman.
Apple opposed the motion, saying that the case was at the centre of a fraud investigation by French Police. The legal action comes as many iPhone users in France have complained about spontaneous shattering of their iPhone screens. Apple insists there is no evidence of a design flaw.
The French authorities are investigating the complaints, but have so far found no evidence to suggest the screens shatter. The Cannes court will deliver its verdict on 3rd December.
