"Sony Ericsson has announced two new green handsets for the eco-conscious. The company already have two mobile phones in their GreenHeart portfolio, the C901 and Naite. Now the Elm and Hazel are joining the green party."
The GreenHeart initiative is all about making economical phones. Sony Ericsson is doing this by using a high percentage of recycled plastic, no hazardous chemicals, very little packaging and are supplying e-manuals on the phone rather than traditional printed books.
Steve Alder, General Manager Group and UK Devices for O2, said: “Offering Sony Ericsson GreenHeart™ phones to our customers has been a part of our strategy to integrate sustainability across all our products and services thereby helping our customers reduce their environmental footprint. As an industry it is essential we embrace innovation in this area and incorporating greener credentials across our product portfolio is certainly a focus for us moving forwards.”
Both handsets have similar spec sheets, including a 5megapixel camera, 3G connectivity, WiFi access and various Social Network widgets. The Elm and Hazel also use low power consumption charges to restore battery power, well you would expect nothing less!
