The Earn-O-Meter lets employees track just how much money they’re earning at work in real time. The idea behind it being to try and make those boring conference calls and endless meetings almost bearable.

The app was originally made by two technology veterans, in a bid to ease tension at a failing company. The two workers realised, that despite the business failings, most workers were staying put because they needed the money. And so, with a pinch of dark humour, the Earn-O-Meter was invented.

The refined Earn-O-Meter for the iPhone calculates and displays the user’s income six digits to the right of the decimal point, meaning figures whiz past at a ridiculous speed. It has the desired effect, millions of numbers can blast across the screen in the time it takes you to load up your computer.
