As expected the Nokia N97 Mini is a smaller, more compact version of the Nokia N97. Coming in at just 14.2mm thick, with a 3.2mm touch screen. Other than that it’s basically still your N97. You’ve still got the qwerty keyboard, tilt display, 5 mega-pixel camera, Symbian technology and the same interface. The only real difference is the slightly improved home screen, with new widgets to play around with.
The internal memory has dropped to 8GB, even so that’s still pretty impressive for a phone, but if necessary it can be boosted with a microSD card. The phone is the first Nokia to feature lifecasting with Ovi, an app that’s designed to help with social networking. (You can access your Facebook info straight from your home screen). The option to completely customise your home screen will also add to its appeal.
The company’s integrated geolocation into its Facebook app, meaning you can share your location via Nokia maps. Nokia’s driving this device a £395, only £100 less than the two-month old N97. Other devices announced at the event include the Nokia X6, a touch screen device and the Nokia X3, a Series 40 music phone.
