Shazam and O2 have teamed up to give customers round-the-clock answers to musical dilemmas. Now, instead of calling shazam to get artist names and track titles, users can simply text 2580 and hold it up to the music.

Shazam will reply via text with the details about the track and artist, a link will also be sent to their mobile phone that allows them to buy the track. Matt Ward, O2 Head of Music said “We have joined forces with a leader in this space to allow our customers to have an even greater in-depth music experience on their mobile.”

After having lost it’s exclusive iPhone deal, this new service could be the beginning of O2’s mission to reinforce it’s status in the Mobile Market.
