Microsoft has announced they will be offering both Windows 7 Home Premium edition and Windows 7 Professional edition for just £30, what’s the catch? You have to be a student. That’s right;in order to get the discount you’ll have to prove you’re a current university student by handing over a valid university email address. At least they’ve kept it simple.
According to Microsoft they’re doing this to help students save money. They hope it will prevent students from having to buy a new PC. The Windows 7 operating system will give your old PC a boost, supporting touch-screen interfaces, enhanced security, and a new Windows media centre. There’s no problem with low-memory computers either,Microsoft have ensured the system will work on even the oldest of PCs.
In a statement, Microsoft said “This makes it a great opportunity for students to get their hands on the most highly anticipated Windows operating system of all time, while saving themselves money in the process” And Microsoft could be right, with the original software costing between £79.99 and £189.99 it could be useful.
