"LG Electronics, currently the world’s number three mobile phone maker believes 2010 is the year of the Android, and hope Google’s handy work will not only help improve it’s smartphone collection in the next 12 months but also boost handset sales by 20%."

"The South Koreans have been left behind somewhat in the smartphone race, with clear market leaders battling it out at the top, Apple , RIM and Nokia. LG has the target of 140 million mobile phone sales by the end of this year, that’s an extra 23 million on 2009."

"LG should be able to post some growth in unit sales, but margins could come under pressure if the growth comes from the low-end," said Han Eun-mee, an analyst at HI Investment & Securities in Seoul."
