"It’s one of the biggest mobile events of the year and now a second leading mobile manufacturer has pulled out. LG Electronics has said it won’t be attending this years Mobile World Congress, taking a similar stance to Nokia– Both companies will exhibit at separate events nearby."

Meanwhile Nokia has posted details about its own mobile event, which will be held in Barcelona - conflicting with the Mobile World Congress dates, 15th and 16th Feb. Nokia’s website states “ As an alternative to the noises and crowds at MWC, Barcelona, invited guests can relax on comfy sofas, enjoy delicious food and drinks as they discuss the industry and network with their peers – all courtesy of Nokia”

The event will take place just round the corner from the MWC at Once – the centre for the Spanish National Organisation for the Blind. LG is yet to announce its own exhibition.
