Today, Vodafone became the fourth network to add the iPhone to its smartphone inventory, joining the likes of Orange, Tesco Mobile and O2. As expected Vodafone prices take a similar direction to the competitors, leaving data allowances to take the front seat as the main sales driver.

Reportedly 50,000 units are expected to be sold today, that’s 20,000 more than rival Orange’s first day figure. Along with the launch of the Apple iPhone, Vodafone is releasing two new applications for the handset. The Free Voda 360 People Sync app will help customers to transfer all their contact info over to their new iPhone. The Vodafone Navigation app provides voice guided navigation direct from the handset.
