Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the UK - over 44,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year and 1 in 9 women will develop breast cancer at some point in their lifetime. So whether you've been affected yourself, know a friend or family member who has, or just want to do your bit, we can all show our support and help in the fight against breast cancer.
For Phones 4u and Samsung, the health and well being of our customers, our employees and our fellow colleagues is important to us. With your help, it is our aim to raise awareness and vital funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer's research, campaigning and education work.
Samsung has launched the new Samsung U800 Pink to support and drive awareness of breast cancer in the UK, and this gorgeous handset will be available in the UK exclusively at Phones 4u from August 2008 and in the run up to Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. With each Samsung U800 Pink sold at Phones 4u, £10 will be donated towards the charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer, to help fund their vital work. This site shows you how to purchase this stunning pink handset and help make a difference, as well as how you can show your support in other ways. We've also given you lots of fundraising ideas to help you get more involved in the fight against breast cancer.
Most breast cancers are detected by women who report unusual changes to their doctor - this highlights the importance of being breast aware. Breast cancer risk increases with age and early detection offers the best chance of successful treatment. For every woman, Breakthrough has a simple breast awareness message - Show your breast some TLC: Touch, Look, Check.
