Beyond all expectations
even though on paper it seems a large phone i have never had a problem fitting it into my trouser pocket. the power a functions of this device surprised me.
I know about phones, so every phone has never quite been good enough but this one takes everything i throw at it and keeps going.

Top performer, reliable, gadget appeal to spare. Buy it now. Whoof!
Using the note was like a breath of fresh air compared to messing around scrolling on a wee Blackberry screen. Its fast, stable, feature packed and pretty intuitive.
Battery life is NOT an issue. Every phone I’ve had requires charging once a day. The Note with all its processing power (I am referring to the Note Mk1 Dual Core processor phone), easily kept going for all of a reasonable business day with a mix of phone calls, photos and web browsing.
A few times the phone appeared to hang but it always returned to normal operation and reported that the app (in each case Google Chrome) has stopped responding. A more stable browser would probably not throw this up and it says to me, the underlying Operating System is pretty robust.
I’m quite technically minded and can appreciate the allure of a hot sexy gadget. The Note meets and exceeds my selection criteria whilst being gimmick free and eminently functional. There is functionality in this phone – the GUI, Notes feature etc that I have not even begun to really play with yet. The image quality of the camera is also excellent. A highly intuitive interface rounds out a pretty impressive piece of hardware. If you need quad core bragging rights get the Note II. This phone however will fulfil your mobile communication needs with aplomb and capacity to spare.
Any negatives. None that are worth even mentioning.
If you’re thinking of buying – stopping thinking, get it and start enjoying it.

Best touchscreen I've ever bought
I debated for ages whether or not to get this phone as my main concern was the size. It took a few days to get used to bit now every other phone feels small in my hands.
Also the touchscreen is by far the most responsive I've ever used and I had previously thought iphones to be the best touchscreen handset.
In terms of features android is amazing with many of the top apps free and all easily downloadable from Google play using a Google account ( no faffing with itunes!). I even got a great sat nav to use for free. The internet is also great on this phone aa the screen size means less booming in and out to see a webpage not designed for a phone
This phone is one of the best smartphones there are out there at the moment and if you're looking for something a little larger then this is it.

Fanastic phone if a big screen is top of your list
This is a big phone. I got this phone as I only want to carry round one device. So I don't need separate tablet, MP3 player ,Sat Nav, camera and personal organiser. This phone ticks the boxes for me. I still use my Kindle for reading books when at home, but the phone is still a good fall back if you have time to read when out and about.
Although the phone is big it does fit into my shirt pocket even with a rubber case around it. Not the sort of phone that fits into your back jean pockets however. My advice would be to go into a shop and handle one if you have any doubts.
The music player is excellent and is better than my existing Samsung MP3 player. The phone comes with its own ear phones which actually seem quite good
Streaming videos on this phone, from say YouTube, is excellent. superb colour and of course that VERY big screen.
This phone comes with a stylus. You can if you want actually write your emails and texts. It is pretty good , but can be a little frustrating, and some times you have to have several attempts at writing a letter that I want. The stylus is however excellent for using the 'key board'. As even with a big screen it can be difficult to hit the right keys. The stylus allows much greater precision for this and generally using the phone. I also like it as it reduces smears & smudging that you normally get on a touch screen. If you don't take to the stylus you can of course operate the phone with your hand/fingers as with any touch screen. If you are an artistic type you can also draw with the pen and draw on photographs etc.
Camera is 8mp and seems pretty good, although I have taken no more than a few basic shots to date. I would have preferred a dedicated camera button on the case, rather than having to go into apps and find 'camera'.
The Sat Nav is seems to work fine, but is dependent on the signal strength. I tried to check my position when out cycling and the map was not detailed enough, but I was of the beaten track.
Just got to mention the alarm clock. Mine started to play up not long after I got my phone. So alarm clock went in the bin. I just love the way you can set a time for different days. This is my first smart phone and I know this is just a standard feature, but it is very useful.
Phone come with 16GB although some of that is used by the pre-installed apps. I got a Samsung 32GB micro disk for the phone so I can get my music collection on there!!
The processor is a dual core 1.5GHz. Seems pretty fast. Before I got this phone I was looking at the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, however the original Note was available for £20.50 with Phones4U whereas the new Note 2, was at least £34pm albeit with more generous tariffs. While the Note 2 has a quad processor and slightly bigger screen I thought the Note was better value for the price.
The downsides for me are the battery life. I guess its not actually that bad for what is after all a handheld computer. It has always lasted a full day for me. I can't see any situation where it would lose all power, particularly if you have an in-car charger. However don't know how long it would last if you played videos all day....
The speech recognition is not brilliant but useable and I don't believe it is worse than any other phone. I have friens who have the i-phone 5 and while they are excellent phones the Samsung Note is better value especially if you want a BIG screen!!

Intuitive
My previous phone was a Nokia N900. The Note is in a different class. The phone has the 'wow' factor. Big and stylish yet fits in your jeans pocket (not skinny jeans!) Large screen, easy to use and so many functions you probably won't use them all. The S pen is quirky and fun to use. The Google Playstore has 1,000's of apps to customize your phone. I downloaded a free golf range app that sends an email with a webpage link on round start up and records your position on the course and score. You can visit the page and see where you messed up! The battery life is very good however it does need charging every night. You can run your social life from this phone and probably won't even need to open your laptop or turn on your tablet again. The Internet function is quick and looks great on the large screen but use it on WiFi connection when possible as the Note is data hungry and will eat your 500mb allowance in days. I get a Sky sports swappable with my Panther plan which uses NONE of my data allowance and lets me watch all the sky sports channels on my phone. The quality of the picture is very good for a free extra so well worth it. Overall, just amazed with this phone. How much better can they make a mobile phone? In my opinion, not much.

so many features, I am still learning.
Being a business user, I have had just about every make of mobile phone over the years, ending with a HTC Desire.
I've had my Galaxy note about four months now and sadly had to send it in for a technical repair. I get it back tomorrow.Turns out it's my fault, leaving it on a kitchen worktop and moisture seeped into the charging port. Point is, I really have missed my Galaxy Note, and it really is the most wonderful, user friendly phone, streets ahead of the desire.
The one adverse comment I have, is not about the phone, It's about the cover. Terrible cheap looking plastic, & at £25 it's not cheap. I suggest you ask HTC where they got their leather case made for the Desire. It's classic.

Wham bam, thank you mam!
Since I have received the Samsung Galaxy Note, I have enjoyed this phone immensely.
The various packages included are fantastic and I cannot fault this phone in any way.
Battery Life is fantastic considering how big the phone is. I can make mine last 3 days without a problem.
Internet browsing is a doddle and with the aid of data usage I can browse without thinking I am creating a bill.

A very good web browser that you can use as a phone
The phone is great for internet, phones4u got me a great deal (start a new contract rarther than upgrade), although very helpful and firendly. I really wish that I had checked that box thats says leave me alolne, They keep emailing me all the time to write reveiews and stuff for them, its starting to get really annoying now.
